The Free surf lesson are open to individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced surfer, everyone is welcome to join and enjoy the experience.

No, you do not need to bring your own surf equipment. We will provide all the necessary surfing gear, including surfboards and wetsuits.

To participate in the free surf lessons, participants must be able to swim and feel comfortable in the water. Minors under the age of 18 will need parental or guardian consent to participate.

YES! Our instructors are experienced and will be present throughout the event to provide guidance, instructions, and ensure the safety of all participants.

In addition to the free surf lessons, our Juneteenth event will feature a range of activities to celebrate the occasion. Yoga sessions, Interactive games, music, educational booths, and opportunities for community engagement and dialogue.

We recommend bringing the following items to ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience during the free surf lessons on Juneteenth:

- Swimwear: Please come dressed in appropriate swimwear that allows you to move freely in the water and that will go under a wetsuit.

- Towel: It's a good idea to bring a towel to dry off after the surf lesson. You can also use it to sit on the beach or to keep warm if needed.

- Hat and Sunglasses: Consider bringing a hat and sunglasses to shield your face and eyes from the sun.

- Change of Clothes: It's a good idea to bring a change of clothes for after the surf lesson. This way, you can change into dry clothes and feel comfortable while enjoying the rest of the event!

- Beach Blanket to sit on when you're chilling on the grass or beach.

- Sunscreen: Please make sure to bring reef safe sunscreen to protect your skin and protect our native wildlife.

- Anything else you would bring for a beach day, it is an all day event!

Both the Juneteenth event and the surf lessons are completely free of charge. Our nonprofit organization is committed to providing these activities as a gift to the community and promoting access to outdoor experiences for everyone.

However, in past years, we were able to provide free food at our Juneteenth celebration thanks to a generous sponsor. However, due to changes in sponsorship and new administrative policies, we are working toward becoming more self-sufficient in funding our programs and events. As a result, food will no longer be free at this year’s event with online pricing starting at $8 per meal ticket and in person will be $10.
