We make a living by what we get but, we make a life by what we give.

Mexico does not have a foster system or any government funded programs for children as we have here in the USA. As a result, orphanages are funded by the community. Because of this, we decided to help out an orphanage called Door of Faith, located in Mexico. They have over 100 children in their orphanage, making them the largest orphanage in Baja.

The goal was to host a toy drive so that we could provide Christmas gifts for their children.

So during the weekend of December 6-December 7th, we set up shop at Tourmaline Surfer's Beach and community members from all over San Diego stopped by to donate toys. We had goodies for the children and some surfers even stopped by before they went into the ocean.  Together we filled up large boxes (108 brand new toys/clothes and shoes total)  for the children to open on Christmas Day.

We had such a great success with the toy drive, we plan on making it an annual event.
