Tourmaline Paddle Out

6.6.2020

June 6, 2020 was the day Paddle for Peace was born. With all of the protests going on around the murder of George Floyd and Police Brutality, we decided to come together as a community to heal and stand in solidarity with BLM. The purpose of this event was to come together when the nation was so divided and be a beacon of HOPE. The turnout was beautiful, it turned into a place where love was louder than hate.

Our community members really came together for this one. The paddle for Peace event was for the community, by the community. Everyone pitched in to help and lend their talents to make the paddle out what it was.

We had a ripple effect after the tourmaline paddle out. Our fellow community members reached out wanting to do spread more love and hold a Paddle for Peace event at their local Beaches, Ocean Beach and Windansea. So for 3 days in a row, our community members both surfers and non surfers, showed up to paddled out or stand on the sand in solidarity to spread nothing but love and positivity amongst each other which inspired so many people.

Kindness is contagious and love will always be stronger than hate.

We have and always will stand with our community members, especially during times of need.
